After hearing a presentation on the critical shortage of foster families across Louisiana, Anna immediately sprang into action through her church. Since then, she’s founded Crossroads NOLA, which supports foster families by recruiting, developing and supporting families through churches across the state.

Anna travels constantly, presenting and working to recruit and train foster families. Anna also leads training in Trust-Based Relational Intervention, an evidence-based caregiving model designed to give foster parents the knowledge and skills they need to bring hope and healing to the children in their care.

Over the past 8 years, the need for a trauma-informed system, as well as individual families, has become more apparent. Anna has continued to lead the organization in responding to the needs of vulnerable children and families by working with other organizations in child welfare to create a trauma-informed, collaborative approach to caring for children.
