Glenda Chappel is an Actuarial Program Analyst at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana. Billie Davis-Lomas is an IT Solutions Architect. They just so happen to be sisters who are passionate about providing young people with the IT training they need to succeed.

Glenda founded the Baton Rouge chapter of Black Data Processing Associates (BDPA) – a professional networking organization that supports diversity within the IT field. BDPA also emphasizes training and education for young people to develop and further the skills necessary in a 21st century career.

Billie has spent many Saturdays providing hands-on training to students in web development, database management, systems administration and more.

Along with other local IT professionals, Glenda and Billie have grown the Baton Rouge chapter to have a tremendous impact on the lives of the students who participate. Beyond technical skills, they mentor dozens of children in professionalism, public speaking and life skills.
