Sister Rosario O’Connell served as director of the Louis Infants’ Crisis Center in Houma. Founded by her in 1979, the facility is a licensed child-care center that helps to prevent child abuse and neglect of children whose ages range from birth to 8 years. Under her direction, the center provides a 24-hour, seven-day-a-week emergency shelter to children of families in crisis. Sister Rosario passed away in 2016.
