HGIO grew from an existing coalition of over 20 multi-sector partners. The project aimed to facilitate healthy lifestyles in the citizens of Shreveport, LA, through a widespread media campaign; bike and pedestrian advocacy training for community leaders; and adult and youth programs, which focused on gardening and outdoor adventures to introduce the lifestyle habits of healthy eating and physical activity.
