In 2019, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana employees reported more than $1 million in gifts to Louisiana charities. But that’s just the beginning of their commitment to Louisiana: nearly 300 Blue Cross employees serve as volunteer directors of various nonprofit boards across the state – ranging from mental health organizations to food banks. And Team Blue volunteers thousands of hours each year.
In other words, our employees stand out for wanting to be the hands that make change happen.
Throughout the year, the company also supports employee giving campaigns for major community partners. It also trains Blue Cross employees in board governance and fundraising so that they are ready to be community leaders who are active, good stewards of public resources when the time is right.
